Meet Our Team

Dr. Kyle Peterson

DVM

Dr. Kyle Peterson is a proud East Grand Forks native and University of North Dakota alum, graduating from Senior High in 1982, and doing his pre-veterinary coursework at UND from 1982 to 1986. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, graduating with Distinction.

The first 9 years of his practice career were spent in Milbank, South Dakota in a multidoctor mixed-animal practice. He was a partner in that practice where the majority of the work was with dairy herds, with a significant amount of cow-calf and companion animal medicine and surgery. He also worked with horses, sheep, swine, and the occasional elk, dall sheep, white tail deer, and munt jac deer.

In January 1999, he bought this practice from Dr. Ward Gilbertson, a well-respected veterinarian who had been practicing in East Grand Forks for nearly 30 years. Since that time, Dr. Peterson has concentrated almost exclusively on companion animal medicine and surgery.

Dr. Peterson and his wife, Lori, have 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, weekends at the lake, fishing and following the Minnesota Twins and UND athletics.

Dr. Wang

DVM

Dr. Vickie Wang grew up in Fertile MN, graduating with honors from Fertile-Beltrami High School. Attending North Dakota University, she graduated as a Board-Certified Veterinary technician and proceeded to finish her undergraduate courses. Four years later, graduating with honors from the University of Minnesota a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine her career was about launch.

Her first four years were spent in Grand Forks until the flood of 1997 sent her to Iowa for two years. Those two years made her realize how important family and friends are. However, moving back to Grand Forks made her realize how much Grand Forks had changed. It was time for another change.

That change would be the draw of lakes and pine trees of Bemidji. Working 18 years for Bemidji Veterinary Hospital, Bemidji became her home. However, after Covid The Ark Animal Hospital was another adventure. Three years were spent commuting each day from Bemidji to Park Rapids.

Then as life is nothing but change, a new adventure started. In November of 2023 Dr. Wang returned near full circle and started a new adventure with Peterson Veterinary Clinic. The things that have never changed about the EGF and GF areas are the pleasant people and their appreciation. The other thing is the wind.

While not working, a lot of time is spent caring for the yard and flowers. Her four geriatric cats and 3- and 4-years old Shih Tzus, Mercedes and Denali make her house a home.
