Dr. Kyle Peterson

Dr. Peterson is an East Grand Forks native, graduating from East Grand Forks Senior High in 1982. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of North Dakota, and attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota, graduating with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1990. He practiced in Milbank, SD for 8 ½ years, seeing primarily companion animals and dairy and beef cattle. He and his wife, Lori, along with their three children, Sarah, Christopher and Brett, were thrilled to be able to return to East Grand Forks in January of 1999, buying the practice from Dr. Ward Gilbertson.

Dr. Peterson loves being back in his home town, serving the veterinary needs of pets owned by family and friends, some of whom he has known for most of his life.

In his spare time, Dr. Peterson enjoys spending time with his family, singing, fishing, hunting, and following the Twins and Vikings, as well as UND and high school athletics.


Dr. Michele Vedbraaten-Larson

Dr. Michele Vedbraaten-Larson realized her love of animals while growing up on a hobby farm near Fosston, Minnesota. The farm included a variety of animals, such as sheep, cows, horses, goats, pigs and chickens. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bemidji State University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to moving to East Grand Forks, she worked at a veterinary clinic in Park Rapids, Minnesota. She has a husband, Toby, two dogs (Spud and Daisy) and two cats (Steve and Reggie). In her spare time, she enjoys such things as fishing, camping, hiking and classic cars. Her special interests include soft-tissue surgery and preventative medicine.


Lisa: Head Technician

Lisa started working at Peterson Veterinary Clinic in 2003. She graduated from University of Minnesota Crookston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Industries Management. Lisa and her husband, Brandon, enjoy fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and many other outside activities. She is a member of the Grand Forks Dog Training club and teaches classes for obedience and agility there. Lisa currently has 3 dogs (Piddles, Bitzie, & Bethany) and 1 cat (Skits). Lisa competes in Rally Obedience and hunts with her dogs.


Maura: Certified Veterinary Technician

Maura has worked as a veterinary technician at Peterson Veterinary Clinic since November 2010. She bas been a certified veterinary technician for 12 years. Maura was born and raised in Fisher, MN. She graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota in Bloomington and was a veterinary technician in the Twin Cities area until moving back here in 2010. Currently, Maura's family has a 1 year old calico cat named Lottie and they are anxiously awaiting for a French Bulldog to join the family.


Britt: Licensed Veterinary Technician

Britt started working part-time in the summers at PVC in 2008, but became full-time the fall of 2013. She graduated from North Dakota State University’s Vet Tech program. After graduating, she worked in Colorado for 6 years before moving to Grand Forks to be closer to family. She lives with her two daughters Reyna and Audrey and cat Olive.

She enjoys outdoor activities, reading and spending time with family and friends.


Stacy: Licensed Veterinary Technician

Stacy grew up in a military family and has had the opportunity to live in many places in the United States and abroad. She was born in California, and spent parts of her childhood living in England and Montana. She graduated from Vatterott College in Nebraska with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2006, and worked for a time at a veterinary clinic in Glenwood, Iowa. She moved back to the Grand Forks area in 2007 and began working sat the Peterson Veterinary Clinic in 2008. She and her husband, Brian, live in Hatton, ND with their three children (two boys and a girl), as well as their two dogs and two cats.


Sam: Veterinary Technician

Sam came to us from just down the road, in Crookston, MN, where she was born, raised, and currently resides with her boyfriend, Alex and their three dogs, Smokey, Tank, and Argus along with their cat, Grim.

Sam started here at Peterson Veterinary Clinic in May of 2011 after receiving her degree as a veterinary technician in April of 2011 from the Minnesota School of Business in Moorhead, MN.

In her free time she enjoys music, running and being around friends and family.



Brittany started with us the summer of 2017. She grew up in rural Missouri on a farm, showing and raising dogs and livestock. Brittany graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2014 with a Bachelors of Animal Science degree. Brittany and her husband moved from the Texas and Kansas area to Grand Forks in December 2016 and they live here with their two dogs, Sadie and Chisum. In her free time Brittany enjoys doing crafts and spending time with her dogs and friends and family.



Rachel graduated from Central High School in January of 2017 and came to PVC shortly after. She is currently attending online classes to obtain her veterinary technician degree. She lives in Grand Forks, with her crazy dog, Charlotte Louise, and her lazy cat, Riley. In her free time she enjoys gardening, crafting, camping, and spending time with friends and family.


Michelle: Head Receptionist

Michelle started working at the Peterson Veterinary Clinic in July of 2001. She grew up on a farm near Stephen, Minnesota. After graduation, she enrolled in the receptionist program at the East Grand Forks AVTI. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Randy, and their 2 girls, Cari and Cassandra. Some of her hobbies are: baking, camping, cross-stitching and reading.


Lori: Office Manager

Lori is also an East Grand Forks native, graduating from Senior High in 1981. She earned her Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota. She has worked as a staff accountant and then office manager at Century Circuits and Electronics in St. Paul, MN while her husband, Kyle, attended veterinary school. She was a stay-at-home mom in Milbank, SD when their children were small and became the office manager at the Peterson Veterinary Clinic when we opened in 1999. In her spare time, Lori enjoys spending time at the lake with her family, baking, and taking in the various activities of their three children, now in their teens and early twenties.
